"Work with families and students to establish effective learning plans"
I have chosen my Twitter resource package for this learning outcome. This package shows activities that can be done with my students as well as information for my parents about what Twitter is, and a permission form for
my parents and students to sign about proper use of Twitter.
I have many students with many different learning styles, by allowing my students to use Twitter, it is allowing them another avenue to explore their learning. This tool is going to be the biggest benefit for those students who like to write about their learning but since it has quite a big social aspect to it, I am hoping that all learners will benefit in some way. With this package, there is a lot of training of the students and information for the parents to go over as there are many implications for using the tool and some of them might pose safety risks if not accessed properly. As school policies change over time, so will this document; as of right now the document is written using SD43 policies as my school does not have set policies in place but once they do, I will modify my package to include those. I made this to be a living document, add to the activities as I think of new ones, make modifications to the policies as needed, change or add to the permission form and parent sheet as needed – basically in a few years I do not expect this to look the same as it does now.
“Work with families and students to establish effective learning plans”. If we as teachers are not producing learning plans that are effective for our students to learn with, we are doing them a disservice. Each student is entitled to learn whichever way they learn best and very rarely do you have two students that are the same. By creating learning plans that are unique and outside of the box with room for modifications, we allow students to take the
assignments to a place where they can showcase their learning the best.

"Consider responsibility, accountability and civility in online environments"
For this learning outcome, I have chosen my privacies and boundaries paper that was created for OLTD 506. With this paper, I summarized the most important things (policies and boundaries) that I need to know and remember
about using social media with my students.
This outlines what my responsibilities and expectations are as a teacher. We went through a lot of different scenarios and possibilities to see what the expected responses and outcomes would be. We also went over many
different policies that have been published to figure out where we (or I) as teachers, stand. This gives a clear picture of what I am allowed and not allowed to do (although most of the information is pretty obvious) but it also allowed me to focus on specific policies that I need to put in place before starting this with my students. I am aware that this will change over time as policies and boundaries change but it is a good starting point that focuses on what is relevant right now.
”Consider responsibility, accountability and civility in online environments” is very important to the distance learning world. Since I am a distance learning teacher, it is part of my job to know how to interact with students in online environments and teach them how to interact with each other in the environment as well. Students, specially when dealing with social media, need to be aware of the accountability and civility of how they are to act and I feel like it is my job as their teacher to give them that training. Social media is just growing more and more, it is not going anywhere anytime soon so it is no wonder that this is going to be more and more important.
